KippleGEN
2024
The first law of Kipple is...Kipple drives out nonkipple. Other forms of the word; Kipple-ized, kipple-factor, and kippleization.
KippleGEN is a generative ambient wavetable synthesizer and sequencer for Supercollider inspired by the aesthetic and atmosphere of 1960s sci-fi novels. The synthesis engine processes any collection of audio samples, morphing organically between them to generate an evolving sci-fi soundscape whose lush synth tones echo a futuristic yet degenerate world.
While working on the sound design I was inspired by the themes of decay and renewal from the dystopian landscapes of Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The title references the tension between discarded objects ("kipple") that accumulate in the novel’s world, with the cathartic release of the empathy box, the ambiguously illusory conduit to spiritual absolution in Dick's alternate timeline San Francisco.

About
I’m an artist, architect, and musician working across media to reflect on the dynamics of anthropogenic environments. Through a conceptual lens, I create immersive performances, interactive sound sculptures, and site-specific installations that explore the interplay of sound, space, and perception.
Recent projects range from acousmatic spatial compositions to explorations of light-sound transduction, discrete-time feedback systems, and algorithmic interpretations of graphic scores.
I hold a master’s degree in architectural design from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, as well as Media Arts and ArtScience at HfG Karlsruhe and KABK Den Haag. My works and performances have been presented at venues such as Museum West (NL), Garage Rotterdam (NL), ZKM (DE), Rewire Festival (NL), Lapinlahden Lähde Studios (FI), Národní dům (CZ), and Nova (BE).
